Light and Sound Week for Holiday Care

We have a bumper packed week of activities for October Half Term Holiday Care - all under the theme of LIght and Sound Week. Highlights include a trip to the Museum of Science and Insutry museum and two artists workshops!

We are delighted to announce our first holiday care week 24-28 October 2022 based at Kidszone's new location at St Pauls CE Primary School, St Pauls Road, Withington.

As always we have themed activities and for this week we will be challenging the senses with our 'Light and Sound' Week. The activities planned are:

  • Full day trip to the Science and Industry Museum via coach on Thurs 27 Oct where the Manchester Science Festival is taking place
  • Shadow Puppet theatre - make our own puppets and then put on a show
  • Making our own sound instruments - using junk modelling
  • Creative art workshop on Tues 25 Oct with artist Nate Frost where we create our own clay models and experiment with poses and shadows from our models to create a large scale artwork
  • Invisible letter hunt - use torches to find the letters to make a word
  • Light activated paper experiments with nature
  • Lightwaves Festival visit us to run a workshop where the children will create flowers out of recylced plastic bottles and they will form part of an art installation at the festival at MediaCity in December
  • Guess the everyday sound quiz
  • Sensory den - to explore with friends and play with the fun light and sound objects
  • Glow in the dark Hama bead craft

Plus there will be light and sound themed team games outdoors to get everyone moving about whatever the weather!

And of course, there will be board games, sports equipment, books and other toys available through each day and children can participate in as much of the themed activities as they wish.

Please note that due to increased costs for coaches/travel and increased staffing required, trip days will be charged at £35 per day instead of £30. All other days remain at £30.

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Please enquire via our online enquiry form or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
