Light and Sound Week
24-28 October 2022
We were delighted to run our first holiday care week 24-28 October 2022 based at Kidszone's new location at St Pauls CE Primary School, St Pauls Road, Withington.
It was our 'Light and Sound' Week. The activities were:
- Full day trip to the Science and Industry Museum via coach on Thurs 27 Oct where the Manchester Science Festival was taking place
- Shadow Puppet theatre - make our own puppets and then we put on a show
- Making our own sound instruments - using junk modelling
- Creative art workshop on Tues 25 Oct we created a large scale artwork inspired by light and shade - working with artist Nate Frost
- Invisible letter hunt - used torches to find the letters to make a word
- Light activated paper experiments with nature
- Lightwaves Festival art workshop - we created flowers out of recycled bottles and our work appeared as part of the festival at MediaCity 1-4 December!
- Guess the everyday sound quiz
- Sensory den - we explored with friends and played with the fun light and sound objects
- Glow in the dark Hama bead craft
- Plus there were light and sound themed team games outdoors to get everyone moving about whatever the weather!
